Located a short distance outside Kampot town are a series of limestone karst mountains that hide numerous caves and caverns. The Kampot caves have an interesting history, both being used as religious shrines, and also to harbour locals during tumultuous times, such as when the Khmer Rouge were in power.
Preah Monivong, also known as Bokor National Park, located just outside of Kampot town is a beautiful natural park with a rich with history and culture. Although it is possible to hike through the national park itself, most visitors are keen to explore the many treasures of Bokor National Park. An easy day trip from Kampot, Bokor National Park Cambodia is easily one of the best Kampot attractions.
When looking for things to do in Quy Nhon I came across images of spectacular and secluded beaches in the area. Determined to find them, I managed to find a great tourist map (I’ve attached it below) which indicated they were all located on the Phuong Mai Peninsula, about 8km north east of Quy Nhon City. We decided to spend the day exploring the Phuong Mai Peninsula Quy Nhon and it was amazing. You won’t want to miss it and these other awesome things to do in Quy Nhon.
Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park is one of our favourite places in Vietnam. A stunningly beautiful national park with limestone karst mountains covered in forest, tropical landscapes, underground caves and rivers and the Phong Nha Botanical Garden, you could, and we did, spend days wandering through the region. The good news is, you do not need a guide if you’re able to ride a bicycle or motorbike and access the National Park on your own.
Known to have one of the most spectacular coastal views in Vietnam, the Hai Van Pass is a mountainous road on most motorbike riders to do list. Starting out of Hoi An, we decided to make a day of it and visit Danang’s Marble Mountains and Elephants springs, located between the Hai Van pass and Hue. Located at the base of the Langbiang valley, Dalat is often referred to as the ‘Sapa of the south’. Boasting rolling hills, spectacular natural scenery, local villages and an endless number of activities for tourists, it’s become a popular place on the tourist trail. Pongour waterfall, Elephant waterfall, Prenn falls and Datanla waterfalls are high on the lists of many travellers. We decided to create our own itinerary for motorbike waterfall tour and took in a few other sights on the way, including the Dalat Crazy House.
